NADVIE NAD+
What is NAD+?
NAD+ is short for Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and it is a co-enzyme that is critical for life. It is found, naturally, in every living cell in your body where it plays an important part in over 500 biological pathways.
Why do you need NAD+?
NAD+ is essential in the Krebs Cycle, which turns food molecules into energy. It enables DNA repair and cellular regeneration. NAD+ also works with the neuro-transmission of signals between neurons (including in the brain).
Lower levels of NAD+ result in your cells not being able to metabolise as much of the food molecules as may be needed, making less energy available for you to use. As cells replicate, DNA is damaged and, without repairing this damage, copies of this damage can be passed on to future replications of the cells. Without the NAD+ supporting neurotransmission between cells, so the signal generated by one neuron is not passed on as efficiently as possible to the next, leading to a weaker, slower signal. These slow signals add up to cogitative slowing and even cogitative decline.
What colour my NAD+ should be?
Colour Differences Between NAD⁺ and NADH
- NAD⁺ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, oxidized form): In its pure state, NAD⁺ is a white, hygroscopic powder that dissolves into a colourless solution. Under certain conditions, such as pH variations, the solution may appear slightly yellow. However, a dark or brown coloration can indicate degradation or contamination.
- NADH (Reduced form of NAD⁺): NADH naturally has a light yellow colour in solution, which becomes more noticeable at higher concentrations. This coloration is due to its distinct absorption properties in the ultraviolet spectrum.
Implications for Product Quality
The coloration of NAD⁺ solutions can serve as an indicator of purity. A clear or very pale yellow solution suggests high purity, while a more pronounced yellow or brown tint may indicate the presence of NADH or degradation products. Therefore, maintaining a clear or very pale yellow appearance in your NAD⁺ products supports your claim of superior quality.
When & how often should you top-up your NAD+ levels?
Using the NADVIE PEN, you should build up your NAD+ levels over the first three days of use by taking a dose on day 1, 2 and 3. After the first three days, you should use your NADVIE PEN every other day. We recommend taking the NAD+ in the morning so you can enjoy the benefits of your top up throughout the day.
How much NAD+ should you take?
Unless otherwise told by a qualified medic, you should take 0.3ml (50mg) of NAD+ per injection. For three days, take it every day, then every other day thereafter.
What should you expect to feel?
Your experience will be unique to you and depends on many factors, especially your current NAD+ levels, age, alcohol consumption and more. Many customer experience the following:
- Day 1: 15-30 minutes after the first injection, some customers report a substantial boost in “nervous energy” which has been described both as “waking up like a bucket of cold water to the face” and also “like having 1/2 a cup of coffee too much”. You may feel a tingling sensation for a few minutes in your fingertips and you may also feel warm. These feelings will subside and are totally normal.
- Days 2, 3 and 5: As your body adjusts to the boost in NAD+, so the feelings you experienced on day 1 are likely to decrease with each dose. You will continue to feel the elevated focus and energy, but it will be less “nervous energy” and more productive energy. You should see athletic performance enhancements as well as recovery speeds from exercise improve. You may also experience a decreased strength of cravings for certain food types, alcohol and nicotine.
- Days 7-30: Each injection will bring your NAD+ levels up until, over time, your body reaches its natural optimum level. At this point, the NAD+ injections are simply topping up and the difference between before and after the injection will be less pronounced. You should feel an enduring energy and focus compared to before you started using your NAD+ pen and your exercise and recovery rates should remain elevated.
Why you should use the Nadvie Pen for your NAD+?
The NADVIE PEN is the easiest, most painless and most convenient way to top up your NAD+ levels
How to use your Nadvie Pen
INSERT/REPLACE THE NAD+ CARTRIDGE
1. Remove the lid by pulling it away from the base
2. Unscrew the clear glass piece from the base
3. Push down the black plunger with your finger to reset it
4. Slide a new cartridge into the clear holder and, with the metal cap facing the top if the pen, reattaching it by screwing on firmly.
1. Remove the lid from the pen & check that the cartridge has enough NAD+ solution in it. If not,
2. Take a 4mm needle tip from the pack and gently but firmly screw it on to the end of the pen. Do not remove the needle tip cover yet.
3. Clean the injection site with an alcohol wipe provided in the pack. It is good to select a fatty area, such as the belly, buttock or thigh.
4. Remove the needle tip covers (there is an inner and an outer one – remove both)
5. Without putting the pen down, twist the base until the pointer lines up with your dose, usually 30 units, which is 0.3ml.
6. Hold the pen so the needle points up. Tap the pen few times to move the air bubble to the top and slide the plunger enough to push the air out before you give the shot.
7. Gently pinch the skin around the injection site to pull it away from the muscle a little (it only needs to be 4mm away so don’t pull hard!)
8. Place the pen on the injection site & press the pen down to penetrate skin.
9. Firmly press the button at the base of the pen. This will depress the plunger and administer the NAD+. A slight stinging sensation is normal.
10. Once the dial has returned to zero (0), count down three seconds to ensure the entire dose is administered and then remove the needle.
11. Remove the pen cover, replace the larger needle tip cover carefully & unscrew the needle tip + cover.
12. Put the pen lid back on & dispose of the needle tip in your regular household waste.
How to store your Nadvie Pen and spare NAD+ cartridges
The NADVIE PEN should be stored, with its active cartridge of NAD+, between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius (35.6-46.4 Fahrenheit). A domestic fridge is a great place. If you are travelling, it is highly recommended to use an insulated case with ice packs.
NAD+ cartridges that are not yet being used should also be stored in the fridge.
How long does NAD+ last before spoiling?
NADVIE’s NAD+ can last for 12 months if kept chilled, at the correct temperature. We are incredibly careful to make sure that you are only buying the freshest NAD+ from us, and so have put expiry dates on the vials. Please reference these and do not use any NAD+ that has passed these dates.
Why are my injections stinging?
The main reason why your injection might be stinging is normally injection technique. Here are some tips that should reduce or stop the sting:
- Remove the cap – you will have more control and are more likely to go through the skin to the fatty layer underneath. Injecting into the fat will sting less as there are fewer nerves than in the skin.
- Hold part of the pen that holds the cartridge (clear glass section) in your hand for 30s to 1 min to warm the liquid (cold injections sting more).
- Give yourself small pinches across your stomach, hips and thighs to see which area hurts the least. This area is likely to have the fewest nerves.
- Hold the pen so your thumb will push the end of the pen, not your finger. Your thumb is stronger and, as such, the pen will move less when you administer.
- When you have identified your preferred area, gently pinch the skin and pull away from the body. DO NOT grab a handful of flesh, as this will also pull the interstitial tissue, muscle etc towards the injection too. Just gently pull the skin away from the body and inject into the fold of skin. If it helps, try bending over slightly to make the fold of skin easier to grab.
- Push the plunger slowly. It should take around 7-10 seconds to administer the injection. Then wait for 3 more seconds before taking the needle out to ensure all the NAD+ has been administered.
- Finally, pull the needle out the way it went in. Do not change the angle of the pen, as this causes the needle to wiggle inside you, cutting capillaries and causing bruising.
How long does it take to get your Nadvie Pen after ordering?
The NAD+ must remain chilled in transit, so we use some specially designed packaging, with integrated cooling, to be certain that you get your NAD+ in the best possible condition. The packaging and cooling will maintain the right temperature for 48 hours (2 days) so when there are expected delays with postage (such as over bank weekends), we may delay shipping to ensure your NAD+ doesn’t sit for too long and warm up.
My NAD+ cartridge/vial isn't filled to the top, is this normal?
YES. Your cartridges can contain 3ml when filled to the top, but doing so makes it much more likely for the bung to come out in transit. As a result, we sent you two cartridges with just over 3ml in each. We slightly over-fill each cartridge so you get every dose you need throughout the month, despite losing a few drops along the way (clearing any bubbles, discarded with the needle, human error etc).
How long does it take for the order to be delivered?
The packages need to remain temperature controlled and the packaging we use cools and insulates for 24 hours. Because of this narrow time window, all deliveries are sent at 4:30pm Mon-Thurs with a guaranteed by 1pm next day delivery. If the order is placed after 3pm, it will be sent the following day in the 4:30pm post.
How can you tell the quality of the NAD+?
When NAD+ degrades, either due to temperature or oxidation through exposure to the air, it changes colour.
Perfect NAD+ is clear, like water. This is how we make it and how we hope you take it.
Good NAD+ can be a pale straw colour. This is also fine to take, but no longer has as much active NAD+ as it could.
Bad NAD+ has an orange tint to it and should be avoided at all costs.
If your NAD+ has a colour you are worried about, please email a photo of the vial against a white background to info@nadvie.com and put it back in the fridge (no not take it) until we are able to advise you.
Is it OK to take NAD+ if you have cancer?
There is conflicting evidence as to the effect of NAD+ on different types of cancer. In some studies, NAD+ has been thought to accelerate cancer cell metabolism, and in others it has been seen to help fight cancer cells. As a result, Nadvie will not knowingly sell any NAD+ products if you have had cancer of any sort in the past 3 years. If you have/have had cancer and still want to purchase NAD+ products please email info@nadvie.com providing a signed letter from your oncologist stating that it is safe for you.
Please note that your safety is the single most important thing to us and we made this choice out of an abundance of caution.
Should my pen squirt a little NAD+ immediately after the injection?
We over-fill every pen so you you get 20 doses (4 days worth) for a month, so don’t worry if you lose a bit after an injection. However, to prevent this happening, make sure to leave the needle tip inside the skin for a count of 3 seconds to ensure all the NAD+ enters your system and isn’t wasted.
I have a red mark around the injection site, is this normal?
Yes. This is normal, although not everyone gets it.
The red mark can be the size of a 50p piece, a 5p piece or it can be completely absent. This is individual and reflects your skin’s sensitivity to the pH of NAD+. If you are someone who gets the red mark, don’t worry, it will disappear after a little while and is causing you no harm, being well within the applicable guidelines for pH of injectables.
If you are worried about the appearance of the mark, consider injecting in area that is covered by clothing, such as the buttock.
Is NAD+ the same thing as vitamin B3?
No. They are not the same, but they are related.
Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, includes several compounds such as nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, and nicotinamide riboside. These compounds are precursors that the body converts into NAD+, not NAD+ itself. Your NAD+ levels will be helped by having more “building blocks” to make into NAD+, but supplementing your NAD+ is the most effective way of boosting NAD+ levels.
What should you feel when taking an NAD+ injection for the first time?
Every body is different and everyone’s NAD+ levels in their bodies are different. Because of this, there is no standard experience, but there are some common traits that many people feel after their first injection:
- A rush of excited energy that some say feels like drinking too much coffee. This passes in a short while and, over a few days will stop happening.
- Tingling of fingers and/or the back of the head. This passes quickly and stops happening quickly too.
- A sense of focus, clarity of thought and/or better vision with colours standing out more vividly.
- Tiredness or lethargy can be experienced by those with low resting NAD+ levels and is normal while bring levels up.
Why does my NAD+ injection make me feel tired?
Feeling tired after an NAD+ injection is a common side effect for some people. This fatigue can occur during the infusion or develop over the next day or two. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:
- Adjustment Period: Your body might need time to adjust to the increased levels of NAD+. This adjustment can temporarily make you feel tired as your cells adapt to the new energy dynamics.
- Detoxification: NAD+ plays a role in cellular repair and detoxification. As your body starts to repair and detoxify, it can lead to temporary fatigue.
- Energy Redistribution: NAD+ is crucial for energy production in cells. Initially, your body might redirect energy towards essential repair processes, leaving you feeling temporarily drained.
This tiredness is usually temporary and should resolve within an few doses.
WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE
What is Whey Protein Isolate?
Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) is a highly filtered form of whey protein, containing 90% or more protein with very low amounts of lactose, carbs, and fat. It’s one of the purest and fastest-absorbing protein supplements.
What are the benefits of Whey Protein Isolate?
•Provides high-quality, fast-absorbing protein.
•Supports lean muscle growth and maintenance.
•Aids muscle recovery after intense training.
•Low in lactose, suitable for people with mild intolerance.
•Contributes to overall health and immune function.
Who should take Whey Protein Isolate?
It’s ideal for athletes, bodybuilders, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone who needs to increase protein intake, boost recovery, and support muscle development.
What’s the difference between Whey Concentrate and Whey Isolate?
Whey Protein Concentrate and Whey Protein Isolate are two forms of whey protein that differ mainly in their filtration process, which directly affects purity, digestion, and nutritional profile. Whey Concentrate is the less processed option and retains more of the milk’s natural components, including small amounts of fats, carbohydrates, and lactose. It typically contains around 70–80% protein per serving and offers a creamier texture and richer taste. Because of its simpler processing, it is usually more affordable and works well for general supplementation, muscle gain, and everyday fitness routines.
Whey Isolate, on the other hand, goes through additional filtration steps that remove most of the fat, lactose, and excess carbohydrates, resulting in a protein content of 90% or higher. This creates a cleaner, leaner formula with fewer calories and easier digestion, making it a great choice for individuals who are lactose-sensitive or focused on maintaining strict macros. Its faster absorption also makes it especially effective after workouts, helping support muscle recovery, lean muscle maintenance, and overall performance.
In short, while Concentrate offers great value and versatility for daily use, Isolate provides higher purity, lighter digestion, and a more refined nutritional profile, which is why it’s often preferred by athletes and those seeking premium, performance-focused supplementation.
When is the best time to take Whey Isolate?
The best time is post-workout, when the body needs fast protein absorption. However, it can also be consumed at any time of the day to help meet protein needs.
How much should I take per serving?
The standard serving is 25–30g (about 1 scoop), but this may vary depending on your nutrition plan and fitness goals. Always follow guidance from a nutritionist if possible.
Is Whey Protein Isolate suitable for lactose-intolerant individuals?
Yes. Due to its very low lactose content, Whey Isolate is usually well tolerated. People with severe intolerance should consult a doctor or nutritionist first.
Can I combine Whey Isolate with other supplements?
Absolutely. It can be safely combined with creatine, BCAAs, glutamine, pre-workouts, and multivitamins for enhanced results.
Does Whey Isolate cause weight gain?
No. Whey Isolate is a lean protein source with minimal carbs and fats. Weight gain only occurs if your overall diet creates a calorie surplus.
What’s the difference between Whey Isolate and Whey Hydrolyzed?
Whey Isolate and Whey Hydrolyzed are both advanced forms of whey protein, but they differ mainly in processing and absorption speed.Whey Isolateundergoes intense filtration that removes most of the lactose, fats, and carbohydrates, resulting in a product with about 90% protein per serving. It’s clean, light, and easy to digest for most people, making it excellent for those who want high protein content, efficient muscle recovery, and minimal carbs.Whey Hydrolyzed, on the other hand, is even more refined: it starts from Isolate (or Concentrate) and goes through a hydrolysis process that “pre-digests” the protein by breaking it into smaller peptides. This allows the body to absorb it even faster and with less digestive effort, making it ideal for people with sensitive stomachs, athletes who need rapid recovery, and anyone seeking the most advanced performance option. It tends to have a slightly more bitter taste and a higher price due to the extra processing. In short, Isolate is excellent for most users, while Hydrolyzed is the fastest, easiest-to-digest, premium version.
